چکیده
Motivated by the splitting principle, we define certain simplicial complexes associated to an associative ring A, which have an action of the general linear group GL(A). This leads to an exact sequence, involving Quillen’s algebraic K-groups of A and the symbol map. Computations in low degrees lead to another view on Suslin’s theorem on the Bloch group, and perhaps show a way towards possible generalizations. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification: 19D06, 51A05, 55P10

A NEW APPROACH TO UNRAMIFIED DESCENT IN BRUHAT-TITS THEORY By Gopal Prasad Dedicated to my wife
We give a new approach to unramified descent in Bruhat-Tits theory of reductive groups over a discretely valued field k, with Henselian local ring and perfect residue field, which appears to be conceptually simpler, and more geometric, than the original approach of Bruhat and Tits. We are able to derive the main results of the theory over k from the theory over the maximal unramified extension ...

— We give a new proof of a useful result of Guy Rousseau on Galois-fixed points in the Bruhat-Tits building of a reductive group. Let k be a field with a nontr...
متن کاملBruhat-tits Theory from Berkovich’s Point of View. Ii. Satake Compactifications of Buildings
In the paper Bruhat-Tits theory from Berkovich’s point of view. I — Realizations and compactifications of buildings, we investigated various realizations of the Bruhat-Tits building B(G,k) of a connected and reductive linear algebraic group G over a non-Archimedean field k in the framework of V. Berkovich’s non-Archimedean analytic geometry. We studied in detail the compactifications of the bui...
متن کاملThe Bruhat – Tits buildings over higher dimensional local fields
A generalization of the Bruhat–Tits buildings for the groups PGL(V ) over n-dimensional local fields was introduced in [P1]. The main object of the classical Bruhat–Tits theory is a simplicial complex attached to any reductive algebraic group G defined over a field K . There are two parallel theories in the case where K has no additional structure or K is a local (or more generally, complete di...
متن کاملNon-archimedean intersection indices on projective spaces and the Bruhat-Tits building for PGL
Inspired by Manin’s approach towards a geometric interpretation of Arakelov theory at infinity, we interpret in this paper non-Archimedean local intersection numbers of linear cycles in Pn−1 with the combinatorial geometry of the Bruhat-Tits building associated to PGL(n).
